Chord mojo

Chord Mojo ($399). Amp: Yes Chip: Xilinx Artix 7 FPGA Max Sample Rate: 32-bit/768kHz What We Like: Stupendous specs, detailed audio quality, quick-charge feature. What We Don't: Gets hot.. Mojo's ultra-compact design is based on Chord's Hugo, but Mojo uses a new Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA board making Mojo the most advanced DAC on the planet!

I also own the Chord Mojo and looking for an AMP only to match with the LCD3f. You didn’t mention much about the combination of the LCD4 and Audio DG with the Mojo. How would you rate the Audio DG with the Mojo?A pleasant surprise was to experience the headphone preamp volume controls. Now this may seem an odd statement, but after spending a long time controlling your volume through a big volume knob or long throw faders, regular ‘up’ and ‘down’ buttons can so often feel super annoying. Not this pair though. Mojo’s amp volume increments are so fine and adjustments feel so smooth and gradual that it’s been a real pleasure to use the fairy-light buttons (as we call them now). Lastly, if you’ve wondered why the heck does this thing need to charge longer than any smartphone...the answer is again about the headphone amp. This thing can power any headphones - with impedances up to 600Ω. It’ll be able to handle just about any headphone you throw at it, including every single entry on our list of the best high-end headphones.I think that we are still British! We have the language which is the DNA of societies. We enjoy our isolation and the absence of Papist influences, we are an amalgam of governable peoples ( I'm Russian and Swedish with a Polish name). Chord Mojo Review. I was lucky enough to be invited to a launch by Chord Electronics at London's iconic Shard. As soon as the invitation came through the post I was immediately very curious about.. Mojo's charging Micro USB port has a battery status and charging indicator light. Mojo's casework is machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminum and has a hard Matt black fine finish that does not finger-mark. All inputs are denoted with a fine laser ablated permanent white lettering.

Chord Mojo & Poly review: The finest pocket DAC/headphone amp gets an upgrade to turn it into a top-class Mojo: 2x 3.5mm headphones sockets (also line-out), Micro USB, coaxial and optical inputs Just hope chord mojo 2, has an optional battery vs power, since its most of p.s. I'd give my left nut to find a workable hack to get chord mojo to work without a battery cleanly, its possible but maybe not.. Well, to be frank I didn’t have them side by side but from memory, and I think I have Hugo and Yggy imprinted nicely in my head, I prefer Mojo to both of them. Compared to Hugo, Mojo sounds more natural, more analogical and I think that overall it even sounds cleaner than Hugo.

The benefits of advanced batteries include faster re-charging (up to 20 hours faster than competitive DAzCs). Mojo Charging is via a standard USB port. Mojo can play music while it charges.

Chord Mojo review What Hi-Fi

  1. The Mojo has good reviews, but I don't listen to headphones, so I would prefer to go with a DAC The most comparable Chord DAC's are the 2Qute or DAVE, of which I can see no price(nor have I heard)
  2. Switching On/ OffPress and hold down the power button for 2 seconds to switch Mojo on or off. Please note you must wait 5 seconds between switching on or off before the power button will respond again.
  3. Chord Electronics is proud to introduce Mojo, the ultimate DAC/Headphone Amplifier for your smartphone. Simply connect Mojo to your iPhone, Android phone, PC, or Mac..

Next to the mini-USB ports you’ll find two additional connections dedicated for inputting digital audio streams - a 3.5mm coaxial and a optical S/PDIF. The all-important headphone output is on the other side of the unit, and oh glory, there are two. The power button changes color depending on the audio bitrate - the Mojo auto-senses the audio sample rate as well as the type of audio file being played - for instance white light is reserved for DSD files. Admittedly, plenty of DACs do this - even indie models like the H2 Designs MIYO (full review here) - but it’s good to have. Volume adjustments are also indicated with the volume control buttons changing color - a real gradual visual change. We also like such minute details as the eight mini screws at the bottom - they are of the hexa-variety, requiring a mini-allen key instead of a Philips screw driver. This keeps curiosity and idle thumbs at bay - the Mojo is far from being user-serviceable, after all.If you’re a fan of classical music, you just need your mojo! All the instruments have amazing focus, detail and textures. The imaging is top class and you can off the floor of the background. The soundstage is a little intimate, but you can expand it with an external amplifier like Aune B1 for example, which also adds some soul to the music.

The bass has excellent speed, control and punch. The amplification section might need a little more depth, but adding another amplifier like B1 in the mix and using Mojo just as DAC gets you there. The level of detail and textures in the bass section is exemplary. An even better budget choice is the FiiO Q1 Mark II. For under $100, you’re simply not been a find a better portable DAC. You shouldn’t expect huge leaps in sound quality of your phone, and it does work better with iOS devices rather than android, but it’s a very capable little DAC nonetheless. It’s lightweight and simple to use, and if you do want something to supercharge your portable sound, but don’t want to go the whole Mojo hog, then check out the Q1 Mark II. By the way, FiiO are one of those companies who put out dozens of new models every year, so there’s a good chance this one may be superseded soon Chord's Mojo is as full of Mojo as Arthur Clarke's monolith is full of stars. Mojo is mojo. And then there's its physical UI, which is equal parts dot-matrix printer and Trouble (board game) Ok, don’t expect them to have the bass/soundstage you have in a big amplifier, but you will get good speed, detail,  energetic transients and great vocals.I purchased mine mainly to go from the Onkyo HF Player app on a 128Gb iPod via the Lightning connector/Camera cable to the Chord and then via its Line output to the Aux socket on the car audio system.

I’ve described this effect as sounding as if there’s a sheet of glass in between me and my speakers. I can hear through the glass but it keeps me at a distance from my music. Once removed, so to speak. This is not the case with the mighty Chord Mojo. The diminutive Mojo, perfect for a pocket, jacks you directly into the music. That’s mighty.Sample Rate IndicationThe power ball will illuminate when a digital signal is connected and show the sample rate detected. The table below shows the colours and the corresponding sample rate. The Mojo also uses a unique method of displaying volume levels and digital sampling rates. This means you can instantly detect both the sampling rate and volume level when turning on the Chord Mojo by simply looking at the LED colors for the power button and the volume buttons. The power button LED indicates sample rates from 44.1kHz to 768kHz with a color scheme of red to purple. And the volume buttons will show you the current volume levels with a similar scheme. Even the battery has its own tiny LED light with a color scheme for remaining battery life.

This little magic box sounded amazing with anything I gave it, from iems to Audeze LCD-4, which was an extreme surprise. If you read my LCD-4 review, I have stated that those headphones are not quite easy to amplify. Not only that it manages to give them sufficient volume but it also gives them “mojo”, making them really enjoyable. Le Chord Mojo est un redoutable DAC 32 Bits / 768 kHz compatible DSD 11.2MHz. Il dispose d'une section développant 720mW sous 8 Ohms, pouvant accueillir des casques jusqu'à 800 Ohms In principle all three do the same job but though the Chord/iPod/Onkyo App solution was more expensive I KNEW it would work. I don't NEED any other iOS apps but the iPod might be a less heavy and clumsy solution for my Naim streamer iOS DLNA control point and/or the iOS JRemote (Windows 10/J River Music Center) software I use in my home system than the over large and too heavy iPad I currently use.So, I'm thinking, it's the Gateway device into the Future of High-End music performance. The same price as the Phone itself but with no monthly service contract.

The specs are quite astonishing. 125dB dynamic range and such small thd at this size is just amazing. There are a lot of considerably more expensive full sized DACs that would dream to have those specs.Comparing all the features between the Chord Mojo and iFi micro iDSD Black Label could take forever. I bought a Chord Mojo in a Hifi Store in Berlin, Germany in February 2016. About 18 months later the Mojo stopped working. I wasn't able to turn in on anymore In fact Chord say NOT to switch it to fixed level 'line' output if you are using phones as it may damage them and it is so designed deliberately that your switching it to 'line' output is NOT remembered at your next switch-on and setting to 'line' level can only be done as part of switch-on so won't be 'accidental'. Whereas your previous earphone volume IS remembered so will not be at full and possibly damaging levels.

It’s a pretty singular accessory – you can’t use it with any other piece of audio equipment. And while it is undoubtedly useful, we do question whether it’s worth spending that much extra cash. However, there’s no question that Chord have gotten behind the concept and have kept supporting it, with continued updates that improve the functionality. One of the key developments in recent years has been the release of GoFigure, an app which makes setup very simple indeed. The Mojo/Poly combo may cost the earth, but if you have the cash, you’ll find that the Poly will substantially increase the functionality of your Mojo.

I've been a Schiit person, now I'm admiring Chord design philosophies. The Mojo with it's little modules may become the heart of my music system. I've gone from Meridian M10s down to handheld devices. My world is changing, again!Nice reporting, Looks like the Audiophile iPhone Race is on but I don't think the Phone people think of themselves as Audiophiles, do they? I just checked to discover FiiO K1 pricing around $39 USD, not that it matters, the price is well down into the impulse range! I think that we're seeing a whole new Channel opening up, one that promises to be the dominant music delivery system for the next few years, (dominant in the Global sense). The next generation of Audiophiles will be say'n things like "I first discovered good sound from my iPhone & K1". I wonder how many will want to ( or be able to ) make Sound Quality a priority. What loudspeakers will an iPhone based person own? Probably none of this fits into the High-End, at least for now. Audio hobbyist's grannies will be the ones that own this K1 type stuff, my wife would look at it thinking it's a Lip Stick! The zero-order hold (ZOH) is a mathematical model of signal reconstruction performed by a conventional digital-to-analog converter (DAC) describing how a discrete-time signal is converted to a continuous-time signal by holding each sample value for one interval. iFi Black Label or Chord Mojo - Which Is Better? Major HiF

  1. Sound quality? The iPod plus Mojo connected to my good but not crazy expensive home system is indistinguishable from my Naim streamer and dCS DAC. Thus I recommend such a setup both for value and portability. And like the dCS, Chord use their own methods of digital to analog conversion and don't depend on a 10 dollar 'high street quality' bought in chip. That was influential in my decision to buy it.
  2. Also the volume buttons have different lighting depending on the volume. You should be very attentive when plugging your headphones into Mojo, especially if you switch to a more efficient headphone after a more power hungry one. It’s small, but this little guy has power and it could hurt your ears from the loud volume if you don’t pay attention.
  3. Is it true that Ben Franklin gave us the Lightning Rod only 250 years ago, why didn't God give it to Moses? ( along with the Periodic Table and the Germ Theory )
  4. The song starts with just the instruments for a while. Every instrument, every note was crystal clear and sparkly. When the guitar plucks entered the scene it was like someone came with a guitar inside your ear or really close to it. Got goosebumps all over. But hang on tight, there’s more! When the voices enter the scene it’s like they’re taking your ears for a dance. I didn’t just listen to this song, I lived it!

Review: Chord Mojo Portable DAC/Headphone Amplifier - Twittering

  1. This is the version without instruments, just with Susane’s voice filling the scene. I got goosebumps over and over again on this song. The voice was so real and well textured that I felt her breath in my ears. Also the echoing effect was superbly reproduced. Lovely experience!
  2. If you read the review of   Aune B1, you know that I love that amplifier. It was only natural I tested it with Chord Mojo as DAC.
  3. I have similar experience with LCD2 which I paid with Busron conductor Amp+Saber 9018 Dac built in. It was good and then when I got AKG K812 it was too harsh on trebles but Mojo being darker amp worked great. Details and soundstage wise both Burson and Mojo was almost same but it is just pairing issue.
  4. I have briefly heard the Violectric once. It seemed like a good DAC. Didn’t make a full comparison to be sure of what I am about to say so take it with a grain of salt, but I don’t think that it would be better than Mojo.
  5. Despite the small footprint of Chord's Mojo, Chord's new DAC only needs a few hours to charge. And your Mojo can keep rising for 10 hours continuous listening! Even better, thanks to a separate Micro USB charging port, you can charge and play Mojo at the same time. External power banks can also be used to charge Mojo on the move so long as they have a 1 amp output.

Chord and dCS stuff is made by real people earning real wages. That influences my purchasing decisions. While I still love iDsd and it still has some very nice features that makes it very versatile, overall Mojo was quite ahead from a technical perspective. iDsd has a more organic/fuller and relaxed sound with better presence on the voices. It also has stronger amplification that is also wonderful even with very efficient iems which is also available with Mojo, but with the latter you really have to watch the volume, not to burn the headphones and your ears. vs. Chord Electronics Qutest. 1. Before connecting your Mojo, make sure it is fully charged. The Mojo will not charge as it plays unless you use two micro cables and it is strongly recommended before you start playing the Mojo to fully charge the Mojo.
  2. It seems that Mojo offers 4.2V in max output mode and 3V on fixed (line out) volume, which is quite a lot. I was curious to see how it handles Audeze LCD-4, which is quite a power hungry headphone, and Mojo made it sing quite nicely. I was very impressed!

Chord Electronics’ Mojo (Mobile Joy) digital to analog converter (DAC) and headphones amplifier create a new approach to high-end digital audio sound via headphones and in-ear monitors (IEMs). Chord’s Mojo magical “converter box” external DAC is as mobile as Apple’s iPhones, iPads or any Android smartphone, PC or pad. Chord’s mighty Mojo crystal clear audio is warm and detailed with soundstage breadth, and intimacy believed lost as analog-to-digital converters (ADC) gave way to digital-to-analog conversion.Let’s see if Mojo can bass. This is a fast song and Mojo ran circles around it in the speed and punch department. It gave energy, impact, rhythm to the song making it really hard not to jump around. The detail and control of the bass are also exemplary. The depth is not in the same class with the other two, but you can fix this easily by adding an Aune B1. This means that the DAC section is excellent in all categories: punch, speed, control and depth. The amp needs a little more depth but it’s not something that can’t be fixed. Mojo delivers breath-taking realism from digital music files such as PCM, WAV, AAC, AIFF, MP3, and FLAC. Chord's Mojo works with smartphones and music players such as Astell & Kern's AK380. Mojo even covers specialist high-resolution formats such as DoP DSD files: DSD 64; DSD 128 and DSD 256. Mojo’s three high-resolution digital input options comprise optical (to 192kHz), plus Micro USB and RCA (mini-jack) which operate at up to an incredible 768kHz.The highly accurate low-distortion digital volume is controlled via two color-illuminated buttons. Many low-cost apps now make high-resolution music files playable from all smartphones. Mojo has three different high-resolution digital inputs: optical to 192kHz, plus USB and RCA (mini-jack) which operate up to 768kHz.

Despite its many clever features, digital connections, super-versatility and so on, the one ‘feature’ we’ve been most impressed with has been the Chord Mojo’s audio detail. There is a running joke among music producers that they are never able to hear ‘that’ sound again after leaving the audio mastering suite (the place where only the pair of speakers are worth $100K). The Mojo kicks up a very close second place to that scenario in our opinion and for the price bracket, it really gives an astounding performance.

The fact that headphones are a craze with the young who are budget-constrained doesn't change history. The Mojo is a natural evolution from things long ago - the 1960's Philips compact cassette recorder for example. Today, for $50 USD, you can buy a FiiO K1 DAC/amp for iPhones that will audibly improve even the latest and best iPhone sound, but the tiny thumb-sized DAC, powered by the phone itself, is suitable only with reasonably efficient headphones. I don't doubt the superiority of the Mojo (and other DACs), but when you hold the very, very tiny FiiO in hand and experience what it does, you'll better understand where all this is going. The standard range is from brown to white for maximum volume.Of course most mighty Mojo users will use it to power and play through their headphones. There are not one but two 3.5mm headphone jacks for you and a special friend. On the input side of things, there’s a 32-bit/768kHz-capable micro USB, which is what I used throughout this review, Toslink (24/192), and a 3.5mm Coax (32-bit/768kHz). There’s another micro USB input for charging the mighty Mojo (from any 1 Amp USB port). According to Chord, a fully charged battery will last 8 hours and while I didn’t time it to the second, I’m not going to argue with that spec. The only real issue I had with the mighty Mojo is I listened to it for more than 8 hours on occasion. In these magical musical mystery tour moments I simply charged while I played. Here’s what Chord says about this practice, “Charging with Mojo switched on and playing is possible, but the time taken to fully charge will be considerably longer and depending on volume level and headphone load the battery.” I can live with that. There’s a tiny LED indicator under the USB power input that turns different colors depending on the level of charge.

I know the story. I liked the LP-12 and sold plenty of them and Linn certainly did own the press. Eventually I got a couple of the original AR tables in trades, they were crappy in construction but could be rebuilt to sound nearly as good as the LINN but they remained lesser cousins. The level of textures on each instruments, the level of presence and detail is breath taking. If you concentrate on any instrument in that scene it will hypnotize you. This song is like a journey. It’s like your dancing on each note, feeling every instrument, it’s a roller coaster of emotions.Large numbers does not make the producer 'right', any more than the fallacy of appeal to the majority or authority is right. Steve Jobs did commit the miracle in raising Apple from those very doldrums to the biggest of the big. They did a lot of things right, and I dare say that it wouldn't have happened with anyone except Steve Jobs. Jobs had his limits unfortunately, and from the beginning with his billboards all over the U.S. proclaiming the iPod Nano to be "impossibly small", to today's iPhones and Macbooks being "incredibly thin", his focus (and now Apple's focus) on thinness long since achieved its target, and I have doubts that *anyone* at Apple knows exactly why Jobs was so neurotic about thinness. After all, those Macbooks are carried in bags or cases that are pretty much just as fat as carries any other laptop. Do you understand the extreme devotion to thinness?

The iFi iDSD Black Label sounds better and has many more features at the cost of being a little bit larger. The Chord Mojo however has a clean, powerful output in a more portable package. Either way, you’re bound to get excellent sound and boost your portable headphone listening game into the stratosphere.

6moons audioreviews: Chord Mojo

A suspended chord (or sus chord) is a musical chord in which the (major or minor) third is omitted, replaced usually with either a perfect fourth or a major second although the fourth is far more common. The lack of a minor or a major third in the chord creates an open sound.. Hello , I bought Mojo for a few days and I want to tell you that I am very pleased with him, find in him exactly what he has said so far about him, the speed, the clarity, the sounds I have not heard with other Dacians so clear. I consider myself a small audiophile, I tried many Dacs until I got here and if I were to take another one, I would keep Mojo just because it was the only one who simply gave me another quality music. Perhaps it fits better with my system than with other Dacs, that’s why I say that we acted The Pono? Looks excellent to me for what it is intended. The fact that I think Neil Young is a pretentious old fool who produces high-pitched whining noises out of his nose rather than actual songs from his mouth SHOULDN'T influence me but it does. :)

This thing looks like it landed in Roswell back in the 60s, but delivers some genuinely world-beating sound, as well as amazing control and design. There’s aptX Bluetooth, too, and like the Mojo, it can function as both a headphone amp and a separate DAC. The price? Over $2,000 - depending on your dealer. Well, we did say it was an upgrade...

Chord Mojo - Soundium

When the Mojo first arrived, I slipped it into my desktop system, using an AudioQuest 3.5mm to RCA doohickey, where it replaced the AudioQuest DragonFly Red and previously an old Mytek Brooklyn DAC (not a +). Just after I hit “Play” in Roon, I cursed some curse word, I don’t recall which, but it was along the lines of, “Holy shit! My music just came alive!” I still enjoy my ADAM A3X, even after all these years of ownership (6+) but I’ve never them so alive. “It’s alive!” just like Colin Clive as Henry Frankenstein screeched when The Monster’s hand wiggled for the first time.  The mighty Mojo seemed to reach inside the ADAMs, do some serious house cleaning, and wake up parts that previously covered in dust. I think I heard the ADAMs cough during Nina Simone singing “Don’t Smoke In Bed”.It will drive the two earphones (fairly low cost ones) I have to possibly damaging levels even when set to 'phones' rather than 'line'. This surprised me, I admit. Before we move on, one last thing - if you hold the two volume buttons pressed for a few moments, the headphone preamp will be bypassed (buttons illuminating in light blue) and the Mojo is ready for a full tilt Line Level output - this can be potentially damaging to headphones, so make sure it is reserved for use with Line Level equipment only - mixers, active speakers and so on.

Not that any aircraft I am familiar with (as a pilot) has ever been made out of aluminium as it is far to weak unless alloyed with something else but never mind. Chord Mojo, máxima calidad de audio en formato compacto. Desde Chord nos presentan al nuevo pequeñín de la casa, el Chord Mojo, DAC y amplificador portátil para auriculares, totalmente.. Mojo is small but Chord managed to add 3 inputs on this little guy: USB, Optical, Coaxial. Besides this, it has 2 3.5 headphone outputs. Yes, two people can listen to Mojo in the same time. Mojo. USB DACを搭載したハイレゾ対応のポータブルヘッドホンアンプ。 D/A変換には、独自のアルゴリズムを用いたXilinx(ザイリンクス) 社「Atrix7 FPGA」を採用 Although the Chord Mojo was one of the original portable DACs, several other companies have joined the rush. One of these is iFi, who make DACs the deliver exquisite, highly detailed sound. The best one they make – at least, the best portable model – is the iFi Audio xDSD. It’s capable of handling files up to 24-bit/768kHz, and has a sleek design, with a wavy metal case. While the metal does pick up fingerprints, it’s far more eye-catching than the Mojo. It’s also cheaper, at $399. We don’t think it sounds quite as good as the amazing Mojo, but it’s an excellent second option, and a good budget choice.

The good thing about a Reference System is we’re used to listening to it. It is familiar so when we hear differences, they are obvious. I let the mighty Mojo play with my Leben CS600 / DeVore gibbon Xs and they were like Fred and Ginger (and Ginger). I’m not one to mince words, at least I try not to mince, so what I’m saying is—the mighty Chord Mojo plays equally well when driving some nice headphones while sitting in your pocket, on the desktop, and as a part of your room-filling hifi. I’d go as far as saying the mighty Mojo is completely satisfying in all three locales. That is mighty.Besides these points, Mojo wins in every other deparment: speed, accuracy, imaging, details, clarity, etc. While iFi iDsd is still very good in these departments, it just cannot keep up with Mojo.PERSONALLY I LIKE THE FPGA. I will NOT pay crazy prices (up to 20,000 dollars) for a box containing a 10 dollar DAC chip which does all the real work plus a power supply, a simple clock, and a little audio amplification for the other 19,990 dollars. So my 'fixed' DAC is a dCS for the same reason. In fact I admire their Medical systems. They do speak a funny language which I can overlook. We never went to war with them!, and they did help us out a bit ( back in the late 1700s ), Focal is nice gear and they take better care of Naim than Linn ever did. I like the Focal Active monitors.

USB - DAC и усилители (внешние). Chord MobileJoy (MOJO) от ArtFlash. Cozoy Takt Pro от Snowy88. Fiio E11 (усилитель) от ArtFlash Rob Watts has somehow managed to attain an even lower noise floor with Mojo, and it’s interesting to discover on the internet that these two projects (Hugo and Mojo) ran for a while in parrallel at Chord’s R&D; the lower noise floor should account for the cleaner background; one thing that I found rather troublesome for Yggy (looking at the pics, because I’ve never had the pleasure of seeing it or hearing it live) it’s its choice for EL transformers instead of toroids: I mean why investing such great R&D effort in adapting a military grade chip if decent power supply is absent; almost all respectable electronics use toroidal transformers for their lesser influence on the audio signal, why schiit doesn’t ? The Chord Mojo DAC is a small and portable headphone amp. This digital to analog converter is smartphone, iPhone, and Android friendly for all your audio needs

Why did I buy it? First - I bought it unseen and unheard on the strength of reviews here and elsewhere and because of its specified high level line output. Actually I have little interest in earphones and bought it purely because the analog output from an iPod or similar was not high enough to drive my car audio system to satisfactory volumes whereas I knew the Chord 'line' output would be.Battery State Indicator:In order to determine Mojos state of charge please refer to the LED indicator below the charging USB port: The Big Rig. The Reference System. A place where boys become men and girls become women and some get nervous. I’m not a fan of the stigma attached to these names because they make it seem like the Rig and System are all that matters and typically the size and price figure largely in perceived value. Truth be told, the hifi that used most often is the best hifi and that’s the end of that conversation. Size and price be damned. Mojo rising. I'm traveling to work this morning and whilst I mostly drive, today I'm training it. Chord Electronics' astute leader John Franks saw this opportunity and seized it with the launch of Mojo

Chord Electronics, purveyors of handmade British hi-fi - since the eighties, no less - have been making waves with their innovative DACs and headphone amplifiers. With flagship units such as the Hugo2 breaking the sonic barriers reserved for unforgiving audiophiles, their entry-level USB DAC/headphone amp, the Mojo, is aimed at audiophiles with a slightly lower budget. It’s among one of the most intriguing designs we’ve encountered, but does it match up to Chord’s legacy? In this review, we break down the Mojo’s sound, design, packaging and accessories, specs and more. To see alternatives, check out our list of the best DACs.4. Astell & Kern Media Players:The Chord Mojo will connect to all A&K players EXCEPT the AK Jr.Chord Mojo will connect to an Astell & Kern Media Players with a mini Toslink to Toslink cableThe length of the cable depends on your preference of course. We recommend the Wireworld Cable Technology's Nova Toslink -0.5M And also the Alpha Design Labs (Furutech)'s OPT-MT (Toslink to Mini Plug)The tech in Mojo is superior from my perspective and I think the measurements and the specs show that as well.Well, ifi is a little smoother, has a fuller, smoother treble and sound in general. Some may consider it a little more musical because of that. However, Mojo is also musical through other qualities like wonderful textures and cursivity.

It is coming down to the Wrist Watch, ( the Star Trek communicator ) sort of thing. Home systems will wirelessly connect to Powered Speakers. It will happily work with a Mac, PC or any handheld smart device - iOS or Android. When linked to Apple (or Linux OS) computers all you need to do is select the Chord Mojo as the default audio playback device (Sound Preferences) and you are up and running. For Windows machines you do need to download and install a driver from Chord Electronics’ website and every version of Windows since Vista is supported. As is often the case with Windows drivers, the installation procedure can be a bit of a pain but if facing any issues, just follow the steps as advised in the manual. In this operating system the Mojo can be used in several streaming modes - Direct Sound (DS), Kernel Streaming (KS) and WASAPI. These are dependent on the type of audio player of your choice and we won’t go too deeply into this as it is again explained really well in the Mojo operating manual.Compared to Yggdrasil, if I remember correctly, Mojo should have better focus, a cleaner background and better dynamic range.
